Very little is known about Grizzal's birth and true heritage (and it is unwise to ask him about it as it unearths his furious and foul temperment). Grizzal was adopted and raised by the Manton family in Swanton Keep. During his young adulthood, he began workng for Merchant Glaeric performing deliveries and other odd jobs, suitable to the business. Due to Grizzal's increasingly powerful size as he grew older, Glaeric begins to utilize Grizzal as a debt collector and bodyguard. Later he would learn accounting and moneylending skills from Glaeric, and begin his own moneylending and gear renting services. Finally, Merchant Glaeric recommends Grizzal to Master Kel to further his martial training and abilities. Grizzal has only recently adventured out on his own in search of gold coin and potential clients for his moneylending business, although he is a grown man of some thirty odd years.
